The Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation is a coalition of organizations involved in international development and committed to the recognition of the dignity of all people and their right to self-determination, to the protection of the world's fragile environment, and to the promotion of global understanding, cooperation, peace and justice.
This is achieved through:
*providing a structure within which members can share, learn and grow by interacting with one another,
*facilitating the provision of information and education about global issues,
*advocating on international issues, and

SCIC has an active youth program. We offer workshops in schools for classrooms and social justice clubs, as well as conferences and educational events on leadership and independent media creation in which youth can participate. In Summer 2008 we are hosting the second annual Do-It-Yourself media trainings which are open to youth age 11-18. Visit our website for more info (www.youthbeat.org) or check out the TIG event listing. We also produce a youth ‘zine’ through which young people can learn about global issues and ways to become involved.
Keep watching our website for further opportunities to become involved or email Tracey at scicyouth@earthbeat.sk.ca
