The objective of UAC is to contribute to the development of a caring and supportive society for children in Buea, Cameroon by providing quality and affordable nursery and primary education as well as vocational skills programs for youth, introducing an alternative approach to education in Cameroon, offering a secure and stable learning environment for children, and helping parents and teachers take an active role.

UAC provides a variety of programs and services all of which are directed at community development for the benefit of children. The main programs are:
- A primary and nursery school for approximately 250 children between the ages of 3 and 9, including a remedial reading program, the 'corner room' to build creativity skills and independent thinking;
- A woodshop to teach woodworking and painting skills to local youth;
- A computer room that provides access to affordable training on internet, word processing, excel, networking and other IT courses;
- An HIV/AIDS awareness and outreach program to selected villages around Buea;
- A Youth Club for local high school students to provide them exposure to different types of activities raise their awareness about community and international issues.

As youth are the focus of the organization there are many opportunities for local youth to become involved. Outreach has been done to many of the local secondary schools where HIV/AIDS workshops have been held and students have been invited to various events held by the organization. Local youth can also become involved as participants in the programs offered (Vocational skills, computer room, youth club).

International youth are invited to contribute to the program as volunteers and bring their experience, networks and expertise to help improve aspects of organizational management, improve the quality of the programming that is offered and assist with maintaining continuity of the current projects.
