Peace Through Youth is an international NGO and Not For Profit working towards the disarmament of nuclear weapons, the reduction of small arms, and a more peaceful world - all through the capability and intuitiveness of today's youth.

With over 30,000 nuclear weapons still in global stockpiles we, as a global community, need to be looking into mutual disarmament platforms and peaceful solutions to the ever growing problem of weapons proliferation. It is not an impossible task, nor does it have to be a difficult one. It could easily be achieved in a month, or it could take centuries.

PTY was started in 2003 by a group of concerned youth. Frustrated by the fact that the Iraqi war was leading no where, and costing innocent lives, and confused by the fact that we have treaties that are not being enforced, they decided to form PTY. At first the idea was to have a conference ¨C a conference in which youth would be able to come together as equals to one central location and write a treaty. A treaty which stated what they thought should be done to help disarm the world¡¯s nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. Peace Through Youth is different in the fact that youth make all decisions related to fundraisers, campaigns, events etc. No ¡°adult representatives¡± simply youth. The Board of Directors is simply there to guide the efforts and support youth in the decision making.
