The King's Environmental Group is a student society at the University of King's College that raises awareness about environmental issues, connects to local organizations, and provides services to the community.
Until after the 2003-2004 academic year, KEG was mandated to exist by the King’s Student Union. In being mandated by the KSU, KEG did not have to apply yearly to the KSU to be a King’s society. In the 2003-2004 academic year, it was decided by the KSU that KEG would no longer be mandated, but the KSU would have an Environmental Committee, to more actively look at campus environmental issues. KEG has now become a regular King's society, and because of this, we drafted our first constitution (having a constitution is a requirement of becoming a society) in Sept. 2004.
