Our vision is of young people learning through partnership; young people in the developed world using and expanding their knowledge and skills to help young people in the developing world gain access to quality education.

The Oaktree Foundation is made up of volunteers aged 25 and under, as we believe that young people have the passion, motivation and energy necessary for making positive change in our world. Oaktree also has a network of industry professionals who mentor our volunteers and provide them with support and guidance.

Oaktree recognises the immense difference between the material and social wealth of those living in privileged communities compared with those in developing communities, and they accept that with great privilege comes great responsibility to help those less fortunate.

The Oaktree Foundation consists of people who have come together to raise funds and awareness in order to resource education and community-based initiatives in developing areas. The foundation aims to assist young people in developing communities by promoting education, motivation and sustainability.

The Oaktree Foundation believe that education is a fundamental part of any initiative seeking to combat the injustices of the world. They recognise that it is by pure virtue of birth and environment that young people in privileged areas of the world have the opportunity to pursue extensive education options, whereas many young people in the developing world are not so lucky. This is something the Oaktree Foundation wants to change! The Oaktree Foundation believes that every child should have the opportunity to be educated, and that education can assist in breaking the poverty cycle.

We now have branches in Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland, Perth, Johannesburg, Durban, Birmingham and Boston. We have up to 3000 volunteers and supporters worldwide, with this number growing everyday. Oaktree also has 'seeds' in various schools, universities, places of worship and businesses...

We now have branches in Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland, Perth, Johannesburg, Durban, Birmingham and Boston. We have up to 3000 volunteers and supporters worldwide, with this number growing everyday. Oaktree also has 'seeds' in various schools, universities, places of worship and businesses throughout Australia and beyond.

As an entirely volunteer-run organisation, all of Oaktree's fundraising and advocacy work, as well as its day-to-day running, is completed by young people who give up their time. Oaktree volunteers are engaged in activities ranging from project development, public speaking and legal work to the organisation of fundraisers and events such as the popular Dinners For Life. Oaktree volunteers help generate awareness about the plight of those in the developing world. Their work can lead them to schools, universities and church gatherings. They are engaged in everything that captures their imagination, and no challenge is too large for them.
