There are over 1.5 million not-for-profit organizations in the United States.
These groups address a wide variety of global and social issues ranging from ending hunger and protecting the environment to helping the homeless and supporting local school programs. Each year they must actively secure the resources needed to fulfill their mission.
For the people who run these organizations, this poses a great challenge - one that has come to rely on fundraising as a viable solution. Only fundraising is often seen as a burdensome, necessary evil - a competitive chase after scarce resources and reluctant donors - and a distraction from the work so critical to achieving their goals.
Lynne presents an entirely new approach to fundraising - one in which
fundraisers define themselves as members of a sacred profession. Making this shift means fundraising is seen as a blessed opportunity to forward the organization's mission - one that allows people to direct their personal resources toward humanity's highest commitments.
