The Anna Lindh Foundation's main objective is to bring people and organisations from both shores of the Mediterranean closer to each other through cultural cooperation and exchanges.
The Foundation is the first institution jointly established and financed by all 35 members of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. This partnership between the European Union and their partners in the southern Mediterranean region was launched in Barcelona in 1995 to promote close regional cooperation in the economic, social and cultural fields.

The Foundation acts as a network of networks i.e. joining civil society networks established in the 35 Euro-Med Countries. All our programmes must involve at least 2 partners from the North and 2 from the South.
Major fields of action are education, culture, science and communication as well as human rights, sustainable development, and women empowerment.

The Foundation's main target group is youth and all our activities aim to provide youth with skills necessary for participation in meaningful intercultural dialogue. Our programmes involve opportunies for youth exchanges and joint projects for organisations across the region.
To become part of our national networks, take part in a programme or apply for funding through our call for proposals, you must be from one of the 35 Euro-Med countries (being the 25 EU countries and 10 partners countries in the South: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey).
