The Just Focus project connects a community of young people and provides an way to:
* Be active in becoming informed about issues facing the world today.
* Discuss these topics with other like-minded young people.
* Provide inspiration and tools to take action.
There are three main elements to the project:
The Just Focus website
The website supports an online community of young people. It’s a way to:
* connect with others around NZ, the Pacific and globally.
* gain information about issues through articles (written by young people), definitions of complex terms and ways to take action.
* express yourself through the forum and by writing articles or creating art.
Local groups
Groups are being set up in main centres in New Zealand.
This is a way for young people to:
* meet regularly face-to-face in your area to discuss and work on issues.
* gain skills and knowledge through workshops and activities.
National Youth Hui
‘Global Camp’ offers a chance for people throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific to get together for training, discussion and campaign building, and basically to have some fun.
The plan for global camp is to have 4 camps a year in the school holidays for 4 days each. Camps will cater for about 20 young people at a time and be held in different areas of New Zealand.
