The Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention is a community based South Asian agency committed to the prevention of the spread of Human Immuno-Deficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and to improving the quality of life of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

ASAP is a Toronto based AIDS service organization. It was founded in 1989 as a community response to a request for support for a South Asian who was infected with HIV/AIDS and who was not able to communicate effectively in English. Our catchment area is greater Toronto and all the surrounding suburbs/towns. Our services include preventative education, support to South Asians infected with and affected by HIV, outreach, and advocacy.
ASAP is a non profit charitable organization. The governing body is a 10 Member Board of Directors elected by members of ASAP at the Annual General Meeting in accordance with the agency's bylaws. Staff is comprised of 2 full-time and 3 part-time staff (3.9 full-time equivalent) and we get support from volunteers in carrying out front-line work.
